There are 41 sports in the summer Olympics.

Archery is one of the most oldest still practised sports in the Olympics.

In 1200 BC the Hittites and Assyrian shot their bows from chariots to become the most fearsome opponent in battle.

Archery was one of the most favourite sport of the Egyptian pharaohs during the 18th dynasty (1567-13290 BC)

Many centuries later some of the some of the earliest recorded archery tournaments took place during the Zhou (Chou) dynasty (1027-256) in china.

Much later the english writer honoured the longbow for famous contributions to their countries victory’s in the battles of Crecy, Agincourt and Poitier.

Archery started in 1900 summer Olympics and has been contested in 16 olympiads.
