Rowing

  1. Rowing became an olympic event in 1900 at the paris games.
  2. There are 14 rowing events at the rowing games.
  3. There are six rowing events for women and and their are 8 rowing events for men.
  4. NZ has won 21 medals for rowing at the olympics.
  5. The sport of rowing has been in existence as long as humans have travelled the water by boat.
  6. The first rowed vessels made their appearance more than 4,000 years ago for transporting people and goods over short distances.
  7. Rowing was the most popular college sport in America 80 years ago.

  9. One of the oldest college teams in existence is the Oxford men’s rowing team, which began competing in 1815.
  10. Our best Olympic rowers are Lisa carrington, Hamish bond , Eric Murray,Jamie Hunter, Alistair Bond, Matthew Dunham , James Lassche and Mahe Drysdale.
